Book and Film Club

Book and Film Club will meet again next term starting on Friday 13^th January 2017. The last meeting will be on Friday 24^th March. Our time will remain the same: 3:30 – 4.15. All sessions are free, but if your child is not attending a session for any reason please let one of us know so that we don’t go searching around the school for them.

Children must have either read the book or have had the the book read to them by the start of each film as the purpose of the club is to notice and discuss the differences between the book and the film.

We plan to read the following books next term:

1.     Charlottes Webb by E.B. White

2.     James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

3.     Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz

If you are unable to borrow or buy any of these books, please speak to Mrs Parry who usually has several copies available in the library.

This term in the Library the new year 3 have had an introduction to the stock and should now be choosing and issuing their own books.
Our Author Challenge this half term is Roald Dahl,.We would expect that every child reads at least one book written by him and complete a book review sheet. They can then get a Reading Champions certificate as well as entry to a prize draw.
Last Friday after school we had the first Book and Film Club for this year. We are enjoying The BFG by Roald Dahl. Our next book and film will be Five on a Treasure Island by Enid Blyton.
On the 21st October we will be having a book sale in the Library from 3.20-4.00.All the books are brand new and will be at good prices.
